Entry Requirements
- Applicants should be between18-35 years old(No later than Dec.31st of that year,Dec.31st included.),high school graduate or above, non-Chinese citizen with non-criminal record, in good health and with a good command of English (IELTS6.5/TOEFLIBT 85 or above).
- Applicants who are native English-speakers or have studied in English-taught high schools are not required to submit English proficiency certificates.
- The No.12 Document of 2020 issued by the Ministry of Education, PRC is administered by the University. Two important items of the Document are to note. First, according to Article 5 of Nationality Law of The People's Republic of China,‘a person whose parents are both Chinese nationals and have both settled abroad, or one of whose parents is a Chinese national and has settled abroad, and who has acquired foreign nationality at birth shall not have Chinese nationality.
- Since 2021, those applying to study at universities or junior colleges as international students, should satisfy the following additional requirements: the applicants must hold valid foreign passport or other relevant international recognized documents for at least 4 years; meanwhile,in the latest 4 years(by each April 30th of the year of University registration), the applicants must live overseas for 2 years(Living overseas for 9 months can be converted to 1 year, which is subject to the exit-entry stamp on visa.). Second, those who immigrated to other countries from the Mainland China,HongKong, Macao or Taiwan and apply to study as international students at universities or junior colleges of China are required to satisfy the requirement of the first item.

- For students applying for MBBS, the subjects of the CSCA exam you need to take are Mathematics and Chemistry (the test papers are in English).

Program Description
1. Program Introduction
Editor Notes: After systematic learning and meeting graduation requirements, students will be awarded MBBS degree.
- Students will be given the bachelor's degree of medicine if they pass the graduation exam (including exam on medical knowledge and exam on clinical skills).
- The program pays much attention to cultivating clinicians who have profound professional integrity, solid ground of basic medicine and systematic knowledge of clinical medicine and have acquired basic clinical skills as well as the ability to deal with problems in clinical settings.

2. Program Structure

2.1 Main Courses

2.3 Credit Requirements
- The students should complete 203.5 credits, among which premed pubic courses are 26.5 credits, basic medical courses 48.5 credits and clinical medical courses 54.5 credits.
- The clinical rotation makes 74 credits.
2.4 Internship and Career
Internship:
Tongji University has 5 affiliated hospitals (the duration of the internship is one year (at least 48 weeks):
- Tongji hospital,
- Shanghai No. 10 People's Hospital,
- East Hospital,
- Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital,
- Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Health Hospital.
Notes:
- These are all high level hospitals and have 4,443 beds altogether.
- Students must take the final examination on Theory Test and Clinical Evaluation in WHU.
Career:
- The graduates will be able to apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council to get registered and practice medicine, when they obtain MBBS Degree.
- Students have to do the degree accreditation first because of the regulations in different countries.
- Students who obtain MBBS degree can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities.
- Students can also open his own clinic or continuely study for master's degree.
3. Degree Awarded

MBBS Degree:
- Students who meet the requirements of the teaching program and pass the graduation examinations successfully will be granted a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by the Tongji University.

7. Highest Degree Academic Transcripts
-Formal academic transcripts of your highest completed education level (e.g., Senior High School, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree), covering ALL academic years, NOT just the final year.
-If the document is not in Chinese or English, it must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized by an authorized translation agency or relevant authority. Self-translations are not accepted.8. Chinese Language Proficiency Certificate For Chinese Medium Programs
-For Bachelor’s degree programs taught in Chinese, HSK Level 4 or above with a minimum score of 180 is usually required.
-For Master’s degree programs, HSK Level 5 with a score of 180 or above is generally required. A few universities may require HSK Level 6.
-Higher scores and levels are preferred.9. English Language Proficiency Certificate For English Medium Programs
-IELTS (6.0 or above) or TOEFL iBT (90 or above) is generally preferred.
-If you are unable to provide these test results, you may submit alternative proof, such as a Duolingo English Test score or an official English proficiency certificate issued by your previous school/university, stating that the medium of instruction was English.
-Higher scores are preferred.10. Non-criminal Record Certificate
-Please note that this document is generally valid for only 6 months(Few may require 3 months). For instance, if you submit your application in March, your non-criminal record must have been issued no earlier than September of the previous year.
-Obtain this certificate from the local police station of your current residence, confirming that you have had no criminal record during the 6 months prior to the date of issuance.
-If you are currently in China, the certificate must be issued by the local Chinese police.
-If the document is not in Chinese or English, it must be translated and notarized by an authorized agency or relevant authority. Self-translations are not accepted.11. Physical Examination Form
-Download the form template, print it, and bring it to a hospital for the required medical tests. The hospital will complete the form with your results.
-The medical examination must cover all items listed on the form.
-Ensure your photo is attached and the form is stamped and signed by the hospital after the examination.
-The medical results are valid for 6 months only, and few universities will require the report you did within the past 3 months.
-Forms that are incomplete, lack a final physician’s suggestion, missing the attending physician’s signature, official hospital stamp, or applicant’s sealed photo or contain abnormal examination results will be considered invalid.
-The document must be in English or Chinese.*12. A Non-objection Transfer Certificate(无异议转学证明)
Issued by your previous Chinese university. This document should include your personal information, academic performance (including attendance), estimated graduation date, and your current university’s approval of your transfer application. It must also contain the university’s contact information (email and phone), issue date, and official stamp.
*13. Scanned copies of all passport pages with entry and exit stamps for China

15. A Recommendation Letter From Previous Chinese University
Some universities may also request a recommendation letter from your previous university or other supporting documents.

*17. Notarized Guardian’s Letter of Commitment
-Students under 18 must find a Chinese guardian who resides in the same city as the university you are applying to, and complete the notarization process as guided in our tutorial video.
-Upload a scanned copy of the notarized Guardian’s Letter of Commitment. This document must be certified in your home country and notarized in China.
-Please note that a Notarization of Declaration (声明公证) issued in China is eventually required.
-A scanned copy is acceptable at the initial stage. If the university later requires the original document or additional materials, we will inform you.

For a transcript in a language other than Chinese and English, the original notarized copy of the Chinese or English translation must be provided. For a certificate in a language other than Chinese and English, the original notarized copy of the Chinese or English translation must be provided. The notarized copy must be issued by a Chinese embassy or consulate abroad, or a foreign embassy or consulate in China;
The original graduation certificate issued by the school of a new high school graduate needs to be provided.
