Entry Requirements
1. Status
Applicants must be citizens of a country other than the People's Republic of China, hold a valid passport or citizenship certificate from their own country for more than 4 years (inclusive), and have a record of actual residence abroad for more than 2 years within the recent 4 years (before April 30 of the year of admission). Note that actual residence abroad for more than 9 months in a year may be counted as 1 year, based on the dates of the entry and exit stamp on the passport.
Applicants must be in good physical and mental health, have no record of bad behavior, and abide by China’s laws and regulations as well as CQMU’s rules and regulations.
2. For bachelor’s degree program applicants
(1) Generally, applicants for bachelor’s degree programs shall be within the age range of 18 to 25. Applicants must be in good physical and mental health.
(2) Applicants must have sufficient financial resources to support their studies and living in China.
(3) Applicants must have graduated from a high school or equivalent institution and be awarded a high school diploma or higher. Applicants must have chosen the science stream in their high school level studies, which, besides Math and English language, should comprise pure science subjects like Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The admission criteria are detailed below:
(4) English certificate: IELTS 6 / TOFEL ITP 550,TOEFL IBT 80 / Duolingo 105 / PTE 58-72, or English-taught proof.

-If the document is not in Chinese or English, it must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized by an authorized translation agency or relevant authority. Self-translations are not accepted.5. Highest Degree Academic Transcripts
-Formal academic transcripts of your highest completed education level (e.g., Senior High School, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree), covering ALL academic years, NOT just the final year.
-If the document is not in Chinese or English, it must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized by an authorized translation agency or relevant authority. Self-translations are not accepted.6. Chinese Language Proficiency Certificate For Chinese Medium Programs
-For Bachelor’s degree programs taught in Chinese, HSK Level 4 or above with a minimum score of 180 is usually required.
-For Master’s degree programs, HSK Level 5 with a score of 180 or above is generally required. A few universities may require HSK Level 6.
-Higher scores and levels are preferred.7. English Language Proficiency Certificate For English Medium Programs
-IELTS (6.0 or above) or TOEFL iBT (90 or above) is generally preferred.
-If you are unable to provide these test results, you may submit alternative proof, such as a Duolingo English Test score or an official English proficiency certificate issued by your previous school/university, stating that the medium of instruction was English.
-Higher scores are preferred.*8. Proof of bank deposit (which must be no less than the full amount required for the first academic year).
9. Non-criminal Record Certificate
-Obtain a police clearance certificate from the local police station where you currently reside, confirming no criminal record in the past 6 months at the time of application.
-Some universities may require a certificate covering only the past 3 months, in which case the certificate is valid for 3 months only.
-If you are currently in China, the certificate must be issued by the local Chinese police.
-If the document is not in Chinese or English, it must be translated and notarized by an authorized agency or relevant authority. Self-translations are not accepted.10. Physical Examination Form
-Download the form template, print it, and bring it to a hospital for the required medical tests. The hospital will complete the form with your results.
-The medical examination must cover all items listed on the form.
-Ensure your photo is attached and the form is stamped and signed by the hospital after the examination.
-The medical results are valid for 6 months only, and few universities will require the report you did within the past 3 months.
-Forms that are incomplete, lack a final physician’s recommendation, missing the attending physician’s signature, official hospital stamp, or applicant’s sealed photo will be considered invalid.
-The document must be in English or Chinese.*11. A Non-objection Transfer Certificate(无异议转学证明)
Issued by your previous Chinese university. This document should include your personal information, academic performance (including attendance), estimated graduation date, and your current university’s approval of your transfer application. It must also contain the university’s contact information (email and phone), issue date, and official stamp.
*12. Scanned copies of all passport pages with entry and exit stamps for China
*13. Scanned copies of all visa pages (X1, X2, T, or others) and residence permit pages (if applicable)
14. A Recommendation Letter From Previous Chinese University
Some universities may also request a recommendation letter from your previous university or other supporting documents.
*15. Notarized Guardian’s Letter of Commitment
-Students under 18 must find a Chinese guardian who resides in the same city as the university you are applying to, and complete the notarization process as guided in our tutorial video.
-Upload a scanned copy of the notarized Guardian’s Letter of Commitment. This document must be certified in your home country and notarized in China.
-Please note that a Notarization of Declaration (声明公证) issued in China is eventually required.
-A scanned copy is acceptable at the initial stage. If the university later requires the original document or additional materials, we will inform you.
-For some universities accept Beijing citizens as guardian, guardian services are available on CUCAS. Learn more here.*16. Research Proposal
*17. A copy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant).
The form is formulated by the Chinese quarantine authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the photo or sealed photo of the applicants, the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital are invalid. The physical examination result is valid for only 6 months.

At the time of registration, the passport must be valid for no less than 6 months. Otherwise, please renew it on time.

Academic transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.

22. Supplementary documents
Publications, papers, certificates of honors and awards, other relevant documents (photocopies/scans).
*23. A non-criminal record.
Applicants must provide a non-criminal record officially issued by the local public security with a validity period of at least 6 months.
Tips:
For applicants who are in China: If you are an employee, you still need to provide employment separation certificate and your current residence permit. If you are a student, you need to provide transfer certificate, leaving certificate, certificate of attendance rate issued by previous school and your current residence permit. - How to Apply
