Standard Chinese Language Courses
Standard Chinese Language Courses include three 50-minute lessons every day, five days a week. Those three lessons take place in the morning from 09:30 to 12:20 with a 10-minute break in between lessons. In total, the student profits from 15 hours a week.
Standard Group Chinese Language Course (SG)
Course Description Set up: Group (3 lessons/morning) Intensity: 50 minutes/lesson; 3 lessons/day; 5 days/week Focus: Spoken Daily schedule: 09:30-12:20 Course duration: 2-25 Weeks Location: Beijing, Gaobeidian Campus (Four stops from Guomao (Line 1+Batong line) Detailed description
The Standard Group Chinese Language Course includes three hours of small group lessons a day from 9:30 until 12:20 in the morning, five days a week. The classes mainly focus on spoken Chinese and are designed to make you interact in Chinese as fast as possible. Until the intermediate level Chinese characters remain at the background. After the intermediate spoken level has been reached, time is dedicated to reading & writing as well, which allows for communication with short message devices (mobile phones, chats, etc.).
With a fifteen hours a week schedule, the student has the chance to spend the afternoons as he wishes, be this studying or discovering Beijing’s numerous historical attractions such as the imperial Palace, the temple of Heaven or its more buzzing entertainment and culture areas such as Houhai, Sanlitun, 798 Art Zone and many more. The liberty that comes with free afternoons makes this program an ideal combination of holiday and study.Afternoon activities
The free afternoons also allow Capital Mandarin to organise events and activities of which the students can profit. During Summer, every afternoon is filled with either games or short city trips to the main attractions of Beijing. The students can sign up and participate if they are interested.
Intensive Group Chinese Language Course (IG)
Course Description Set up: Group (3 lessons/morning, 2 lessons/afternoon) Intensity: 50 minutes/lesson; 5 lessons/day; 5 days/week Focus: Speaking + Listening, Reading + Writing Daily schedule: 09:20-12:20 + 13:30-15:20 Course duration: 2-25 Weeks Location: Beijing, Gaobeidian Campus (Four stops from Guomao (Line 1+Batong line) Detailed description
The Intensive Group Chinese Language Course consists of three morning hours from 09:30 until 12:20 dedicated to spoken Chinese, as well as two afternoon hours from 13:30 to 15:20, which are dedicated to reading and writing, five days a week.
Capital Mandarin School considers the Intensive Group General Chinese Course the best class to achieve fast results in learning the Chinese language while having fun. The group dynamics are often beneficial to the learning process, as the range of language and culture problems that can be discussed is broader due to the multiple experiences of a diverse set of students.HSK
Since many of the students participating in this class are heading towards a language certificate, the classes focus on words and grammar that is requested for passing the HSK exams. However, even if you do not plan to take a test anytime soon, the words and grammar taught are the most frequently used in everyday formal and informal mandarin.
Intensive Chinese Language Course Mix (IM)
Course Description Set up: Group (3 lessons/morning) + Private (2 lessons/afternoon) Intensity: 50 minutes/lesson; 5 lessons/day; 5 days/week Focus: Spoken Daily schedule: 09:20-12:20 + 13:30-15:20 Course duration: 2-25 Weeks Location: Beijing, Gaobeidian Campus (Four stops from Guomao (Line 1+Batong line) Detailed description
The Intensive Chinese Language Course Mix consists of three morning hours of group lessons from 09:30 until 12:20, as well as two afternoon hours of private lessons from 13:30 to 15:20, five days a week. The lesson focus in the afternoon will be decided between teacher and student, while morning lessons will focus on spoken Chinese.
The twenty five hour schedule and the private classes in the afternoon provide a very intensive study rhythm. Whereas the morning in the group set-up might be slightly more relaxing, the afternoon consists of applying and extending what was learnt in the group in the morning. However, the remaining day is still free for well earned leisure or evening discovery trips to Beijing’s hotspots.
The Intensive Mix class is ideal for students who want to progress in Chinese, but also want to keep flexibility and fun in their way of studying. Its pricing is significantly cheaper than an only 1-on-1 set up but still allows for fast progress in Mandarin. Intensive Mix Chinese does satisfy the goal and progress oriented side of Chinese learning without overstepping the budget.Intensive Reading and Writing Chinese Course (IRW)
Course Description Set up: Group (3 lessons/morning, 2 lessons/afternoon) Intensity: 50 minutes/lesson; 5 lessons/day; 5 days/week Focus: Reading & Writing Daily schedule: 09:20-12:20 + 13:30-15:20 Course duration: 2-25 Weeks Location: Beijing, Gaobeidian Campus (Four stops from Guomao (Line 1+Batong line) Detailed description
The Intensive Reading & Writing Chinese Course consists of three morning hours from 09:30 until 12:20 , as well as two afternoon hours from 13:30 to 15:20, five days a week. The aim is to not only be able to speak Chinese, but to also be able to understand the written form and to use it to communicate, be it when reading a restaurant’s menu, or sending a short message via phone.
Chinese level test HSK3: No more Pinyin!
Chinese is an ideographic writing language. Although on an elementary level (A1/HSK1, A2/HSK2) a student might make fast progress by focussing on oral communication, the intermediate and advanced level cannot be studied without written skills. Besides, reading, online-shopping, looking for places on a map and other simple daily task are so much simpler when you can read Chinese characters. Starting from HSK level 3, the Chinese language level-tests only use characters – no more Pinyin. Intermediate & advanced students need to know characters to be able to meet HSK requirements.
